Challenge Accepted

I’ve heard of people drinking hot lemon water first thing in the morning, but I was never that interested in trying it.  Chalk it up to being closed minded and in denial about being unhealthy.  In my pursuit to be healthier and an overall better person, I figured I could try something for three weeks.  Why not?  Worst case is that I feel no different and I’ll save money on lemons, right?

In the words of Barney Stinson…

Truth is, after drinking hot lemon water first thing in the morning for three straight weeks is that I did feel different.  I noticed a decrease in water weight, an increase in regularity (TMI?), and an increase in my energy level first thing in the morning.  I also think I’ve been relatively healthy this winter and prevented getting sick because of the increase in vitamin C.

Plus, it didn’t really add any additional time to my morning routine.  There really is no recipe.  I just squeeze the juice from half a lemon into a mug and add hot water.  On occasion, I might add a little bit of apple cider vinegar.

There are really many more health benefits than the ones I noticed, including:
·         Improving digestion
·         Rejuvenates skin and healing
·         Boosts the immune system
·         Boosts energy
·         Helps to lose weight
·         Improves liver function
·         Has an alkalizing affect on the body by balances pH levels

Oh Lord, oh Lord, do You see us down here? Oh Lord, oh Lord, do You see us down here? Oh Lord, oh Lord, do You see us down here? Oh Lord, oh Lord It's easy to blame God but harder to fix things We look in the sky like, "Why ain...

Forward is Forward

There are definitely days, weeks, or even more extended periods of time when I feel stuck.  I feel like I'm not going anywhere and no matter what I do, and that I'm not making any progress.  But, the truth is, whether we see it or not, every day we get up and continue to work on our goals, is a day that we are moving forward.  We just have to keep persevering despite all the obstacles and distractions.  Think of it this way, we don't value things that come easy!

The Taste of Fall

All of a sudden it’s fall.   It’s like a switch was flipped.   The nights are cooler (well, I think they’re down right cold) and the days are shorter.   I’m wearing light jackets, and thoroughly enjoying the new trench coat the I picked up back in August.   Today I had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season.   And, it was amazing.   I’m so excited that fall is here.   I just love all the spices and flavors in fall seasonal food.   I’m looking forward to trying out some very delicious looking recipes that I’ve been saving for cooler weather, and partaking in some fall-ish activties.   I just hope it doesn’t get too cold too soon!
