DIY Peel Mask

I am a huge fan of face masks.  Not only does it give me skin the extra oomph it needs to continue to look young, and non-spinster like.  But, it’s also one of my favorite ways to feel pampered without breaking the bank, or taking up a lot of my time.  As I’ve gotten older, I’ve started noticing the tiny baby-fuzz hairs on my face.  I don’t know whether this is because I’ve just become more aware, or whether they are actually getting worse.  Regardless, it led me to trying this do-it-yourself peel mask, which uses only two ingredients.

I must emphasize that this mask helps, but does not in any way remove all peach fuzz hairs in one use.  Though, it probably would come pretty close, if you use this mask frequently.  All you need is one packet of unflavored gelatin and some milk (or water, which I’ve used in a pinch).  Mix the gelatin and milk in a small bowl.  Microwave for about 15-20 seconds, and apply to a clean face using a brush.

Two things to be aware of, be careful after you initially pull it out of the microwave, because it will be hot.  And, avoid your eyebrows!  (Don’t ask me why I know this.)

Once the mask dries, simply peel it off in an upward motion.  Once you’ve removed the peel, wash your face with warm water, and then apply a toner and moisturizer.

It kind of hurts when you pull it off, but the results are well worth it.  The peel removes dead skin and dirt, unclogging your pores.  It will also make your skin feel super smooth and soft.

Ingredients:
Unflavored gelatin
2-3 tablespoons milk

Happy April Fools' Day!

I'm not a very creative person, and have never come up with something truly funny to do to my friends, family, or any roommates I've had over the years.  Maybe one day I'll be able to put some of the ideas below to good use.  Until then... these are just amusing.

There is No Gain Without Struggle

We all struggle with something.  In our moments of struggle, it's impossible to think that other people could possibly be feeling the same hurt, frustration, and loneliness we are.  Remember you are not alone.  Struggling is a part of being human.  Without it, we would not appreciate the good things that we have.  Today, recognize that without struggle, we are not driven to be better.  You are better today, than you were yesterday.  Just keep going!  Keep taking steps every day to work towards your goals of personal development.

Why Do People Do What They Do?

Last week, I attended a client meeting with several of my co-workers.  During said meeting, one of my co-workers, and good friend, got up to get water for our guests from a mini fridge in a cabinet located in the meeting room.  But, she wasn't really quiet or discrete about it, and proceeded to slam the cabinet doors, while our guests were speaking. Maybe it's because I've lived in an apartment for too long, and the sound of my neighbors slamming their doors and kitchen cabinets has become a big pet peeve of mine.  But, to me, her actions seemed a little rude.  It got me wondering... why do people do some of the things they do? After doing some Googling, it seems like there are many reasons for why people slam things like doors, cabinets, and toilet seats.  Reasons range from anger, lack of awareness, laziness, selfishness, bad manners, and lack of consideration for others.  I immediately did some self-reflection.  While I'm pretty good about not...
