Robin Williams has always, ALWAYS been one of my favorite people. I know a good portion of his movies verbatim and love how he can say something so meaningful, but makes you smile at the same time. I can't believe it's been a year since his death. I cried like I lost a member of my own family when I'd heard that he'd past, and I still get teary eyed while watching one of his movies, an old interview, or a stand up routine.
In my quest to find a favorite quote of his, I found that no one character that he played, or one-liner that he said could possibly sum up the amazing life that he had and the profound affects that he had on so many people world wide.
I never want to forget the quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson that Sarah Michelle Gellar put in an Instagram post to honor Robin Williams:
"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of the intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the beauty in others; to leave the world a bit better wether (sic) by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here. This is to have succeeded."
He certainly succeeded.
